Gonzalo Marroquin Widmann was born and raised in Guatemala City, Guatemala. After obtaining a Law degree from Universidad Francisco Marroquin, he started to work in one of Guatemala’s largest newspapers, where he discovered his true calling… Photography. He spent the next year working as a photojournalist covering stories from Guatemalas national, political, social news, to sports and social events. During this time he also studied photography with his good friend and Master photographer Alan Benchoam. In 2009 he moved to New York city, where he expanded his clientele and his work ranged from Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle, Portraits, Entertainment Still Life to Fine Art and Landscape. In 2020 He left NY to start a new adventure and moved to Los Angeles, where he currently lives. He defines himself as a versatile and eclectic passionate photographer, who is in love with what he does and finds no more pleasure than to tell a story or transmit a feeling through a powerful and unique image.
